Dean Forest Railway
Back in 2008 we first provided the railway with our vTicket booking solution as an add-on to their existing website which was being updated by a volunteer. Although this worked well, in 2009 the railway decided they needed to be able to directly control the content of the site which they also wanted to be redesigned.
On the booking system side, uptake had been so successful that they decided to go a step further and move from our thermal tickets and ticket wallets to an e-ticketing solution where people can book for events and immediately print their tickets at home.
We submitted a couple of front end design ideas based on the railway’s list of requirements and on February 1st 2010 the new site went live. Bookings for the Easter Day Out With Thomas event were increased significantly from the previous year, a success partly attributed to the new site layout and content and the instant process of being able to book and ‘receive’ tickets.
