The West Somerset Railway has chosen the vTicket booking system for heritage railways. The solution, provided by Online Ticketing, a division of Wilson Digital Media, will incorporate a new customer-facing website, advance booking system, email newsletter system and bespoke ticketing stationary.
In consultation with the railway, Online ticketing has provided a new design for the railway's main website, totally streamlining the information potential visitors need. There will also be a strong call to action promoting the new online booking facility and encouraging people to advancve book events.
New stationary including thermal tickets, ticket wallets and envelopes have alse been designed by Online Ticketing.
The system will also include vTicket's e-commerce module allowing the railway's Online Shop to be managed through the same web-based administration system.
The system is due to go live in February 2011.
